    Lead the successful completion of the field-based research components of several different projects in the Soybean Genetics & Breeding Program. Responsible for management and evaluation of soybean cultivars and breeding materials in early generation nurseries and yield plots, as well as sample handling and processing, data collection, processing and analysis, and experimental quality control.

    Required Qualifications:
    Master’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Botany, Biology, Genetics, Forestry or related field.
    Two years' experience in conducting and managing plant breeding and plant science experiments in the field, preferably with soybeans.
    An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
    Knowledge of soybean production practices.
    Aptitude to apply plant breeding concepts and practice to cross-pollination of soybeans.
    Ability to operate field plot machinery and other farm machinery including planters, combines and threshers.
    Strong oral, written and electronic communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work autonomously.
    Capacity to lift and carry 60 lbs.
    Ability to interpret manuals, research procedures, and pesticide labels; and understand safety and standard operating procedures.
    Have or able to obtain (within six months) valid Indiana pesticide applicator's license and commercial driver's license.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with GPS systems, statistical analysis and reporting, and information management and databases.
