    Extension agents are professional educators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. This position will provide primary leadership to develop, implement, evaluate, and report on a comprehensive county 4-H Youth Development program related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Math) for school-aged youth in cooperation with local citizens and county/state extension colleagues. This position will include overall planning and support of the 4-H livestock program in Sedgwick County.

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, sociology, animal sciences or other related fields, with major course work, professional development, and experience appropriate to the needs to the position.
    Evidence of strong academic and/or professional performance as documented by college transcripts, acceptance into a graduate program or documented success in increasingly responsible professional positions.
    Experience in developing and utilizing appropriate media methods, including social media, to communicate current and timely information.
    Experience in marketing and promotion of educational programs.
    Experience managing/supervising volunteers to achieve educational goals.
    Access to a personal vehicle and the ability to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s license.
