Assistant/Associate Professor: Molecular Plant Breeder/ Plant Molecular Biologist
The Department of Crop Sciences is seeking a candidate to teach and conduct basic and applied research in the field of molecular plant breeding/biology.
Develop and teach introductory and advanced courses in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Plant Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and other related courses.
Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate student research.
Provide advising to postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Attract research funds from national and international sources.
Conduct research in areas related to Plant breeding, Molecular Plant Biology, Plant Genomics, Proteomics, Transcriptomics and related areas.
Publication in ISI-indexed peer-reviewed journals, and participation in departmental, college, and university-wide committees and activities.
Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology/Genomics (or a related field).
Research experience in genomics, molecular breeding, molecular biology, proteomics, transcriptomics, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics and/or genetics.
Must have a track record of publications in ISI-indexed peer-reviewed journals in the field of Plant Genomics and Molecular Plant Breeding, especially in the last 5 years.
Experience in teaching courses related to the field will be a distinct advantage.
A track record of securing funding and successful completion of projects.
