POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Work Location: We are currently seeking extraordinary candidates for two positions outlined below.  The positions will be domiciled in the Department of Animal Sciences, Baton Rouge, LA.

 

Position Description:  The Postdoctoral Researcher position’s primary purpose is to conduct research in cardiac diseases, obesity, and diabetes.  This position reports to Dr. Xing Fu.  The appointment is up to 2 years and will not be renewed. Specific duties are as follows:

  • Engage in research activities related to cardiac diseases and/or obesity/diabetes.

  • Collaborate with other research personnel affiliated with research activities

  • Laboratory management

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualification Requirements: Doctoral degree in a related field. General cell culture and genetically modified rodent research experience and skills. General molecular biology skills, such as realtime PCR, western blot, immunohistochemistry/immunocytochemistry, and gene knockout/knockdown and overexpression using viral or non-viral approaches. Experiences with transcriptomic, epigenomic, and genomic studies are preferred. Experiences with heart function and metabolic function analyses are also preferred.

 

Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.  The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
