The Auburn University (www.auburn.edu) College of Agriculture’s Department of Poultry Science is seeking candidates for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the area of protein, meat and muscle biochemistry and quality. This non-tenure track faculty position is a full-time, twelve-month, research appointment, renewable annually contingent upon funding, need, and satisfactory performance for a maximum period of three years. The position is eligible for benefits, including health insurance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an independent research program on Poultry Meat Quality to broadly address the following objective:
- Characterization of muscle biochemical changes and the impacts these changes have on the quality of meat samples.
In addition, the successful candidate will mentor poultry science graduate and undergraduate students, engage in scholarship that results in peer-reviewed publications, and secure extramural funding to support their research program from sources such as USDA-NIFA, NSF, and other competitive programs, as well as from relevant industries in Alabama and across the country.
