Expertise in "omics" technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration is highly valued.

Responsibilities include engaging with industry, regulatory, and government stakeholders to strengthen poultry production in the Commonwealth and identify critical issues facing the poultry industry. Responsibilities also include working closely with extension educators and partners in allied animal industries toward a common goal of fulfilling the college and department missions as well as mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and contributing to teaching initiatives.

Our new colleague will have the opportunity to capitalize on the investments we have and are making to construct new state of the science facilities that will allow you to conduct research on layers, broiler breeders, and broiler chickens at our newly constructed farm at the C. Oran Little Research Center and in our on campus vivarium, currently under construction, as part of the Agricultural Research Building (https://future.ca.uky.edu/projects/ag-research-building).

This should include a section on student mentoring (undergraduate and graduate). (upload under Special Request 1)
  • Statement of extension (2-page limit) outlining innovative approaches to engage the poultry industry and governmental agencies in addressing the needs and challenges of the industry. (upload under Special Request 2)
