The Director will provide leadership for the operation of Lone Oaks Farm (LOF), a new and developing 1,200-acre 4-H Youth Development camping, STEM education and conference center owned and operated by UT Extension: https://www.loneoaksfarm.com/. The Director will oversee the four primary functions and activities of LOF: (1) 4-H Youth Development and youth camping, (2) STEM education and (3) conference center and lodging and (4) farm operations. In addition to supervising the day to day operations of LOF, the director will provide leadership to the continued long-term development of LOF as called for within the LOF Master Plan: https://www.loneoaksfarm.com/about/master-plan/. The Director will also oversee marketing, educational, business, management, publicity, fund development and planning efforts on the farm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee construction, staff and program development. Provide direction and management within UT policy. Work closely with others in the development and implementation of business plans, marketing plans and long-term strategic plans. Oversee financial planning, business analysis and budgeting. Work closely with the UT Foundation and TN 4-H Foundation in securing external funding.
A minimum of a Master’s degree and eight years of experience are required. The Director should have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, strong understanding for 4-H Youth Development camping programs, excellent communication skills and an enterprising and entrepreneurial mindset. An ability to oversee, manage direct and lead multiple ongoing projects, programs and staff is essential. Prior experience with managing construction projects, a conference center, youth camp or educational programs is needed.
