Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Agronomist. This position is a 100% research, 12-month, non-tenure appointment with Mississippi State University located in the Water Resource Center at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, MS with an academic affiliation with the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at Mississippi State University. The incumbent will pursue an innovative and comprehensive program in agronomy focused on water use in agriculture with objectives considering both scientific merit and practical needs of Mississippi producers. The function of the position will be to develop, coordinate, and implement research programs pertaining to irrigation of agronomic crops in the Mississippi Delta. The incumbent will demonstrate an ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in plant and soil sciences, agronomy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher learning. Individuals who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered. Strong experience in irrigated row crop agricultural production and demonstrated excellence or potential in research, extramural grant, and publication.
