The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for two faculty positions. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled. This advertisement includes two positions:

Job Title: 1) Assistant Professor of Avian Diseases Description: The appointed faculty member is expected to have a strong background and experience in teaching and research related to avian medicine and diseases. Position duties include classroom and laboratory teaching, as well as clinical teaching and service. Experience with poultry, falcons, and other avian species is required. Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed specialized training (PhD or equivalent degree) in the field of avian diseases. At least 5 years of academic and clinical teaching as well as field experience in an internationally recognized program of veterinary medicine in the previously mentioned discipline is also required.

2) Assistant Professor of Meat Inspection and Preventive Medicine Description: The appointed faculty member is expected to have a strong background and experience in teaching and research related to meat inspection and preventive medicine. Position duties include classroom and laboratory teaching, as well as clinical teaching and service. Experience with meat gross pathology and slaughterhouse training is required. Additional experience in general veterinary pathology and preventive medicine is welcomed. Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed specialized training (PhD or equivalent degree) in the field of meat inspection, hygiene, and preventive medicine. At least 5 years of academic and clinical teaching as well as field experience in an internationally recognized program of veterinary medicine in the previously mentioned discipline is also required.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus. For Position No. 1:Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed specialized training (PhD or equivalent degree) in the field of avian diseases. For Position No. 2: Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed specialized training (PhD or equivalent degree) in the field of meat inspection, hygiene, and preventive medicine.

Preferred Qualification
Specialized training from well recognized institutions and high quality publication record.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
At least 5 years of academic and clinical teaching as well as field experience in an internationally recognized program of veterinary medicine in the previously mentioned discipline is also required.
