This position is funded as part of a 4-year contract with the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food and is subject to annual renewal of funds, contingent on continuing federal appropriations and completion of yearly contractual objectives.  Funding is anticipated through June 30, 2021.  This position will be housed in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences on the main USU campus in Logan, Utah.  The anticipated start date for this position is October 2017.

Communicate with Extension county faculty to coordinate outreach activities and provide updated information.
Attend state and regional meetings related to produce safety, and stay current with regulatory updates pertaining to the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act foundational rules.
Together with Extension specialists and Utah Department of Agriculture and Food personnel, identify, prioritize, and act upon arising issues that may affect the ability of Utah produce growers to comply with the FDA Produce Safety Rule.
