Extension Associate

(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)

WORK LOCATION: School of Plant, Environmental and Soil Sciences, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, La.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Extension Associate will perform work related to MarketReady producer training workshops, act as a main contact for and to promote Farm To School program efforts around the state, serve as the contact for Louisiana MarketMaker, and responsible for the creation and publication of a Louisiana Farm To School handbook. Other duties may include tasks as they are assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: BS in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business; MS preferred. Experience in agricultural extension work as well as an understanding of farm operations and agricultural marketing practices and strategies desirable. Superior organization skills and ability to work well independently or within a collaborative team.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
