    [b]Position Summary:[/b]

    Develop a vigorous extension program based upon nationally-recognized research that addresses problems and issues important to agricultural producers in Idaho and the West. The successful candidate will have interests and expertise in production and natural resource economics. Candidates interested in issues related to rangelands (public and private) including but not limited to wildlife management, threatened and endangered species, invasive species, wildfire, and grazing are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will develop a productive relationship with stakeholders, and collaborate with UI research and extension faculty located throughout Idaho, including those affiliated with the UI Rangeland Center

    [b]Minimum Qualifications:[/b]

    PhD in Agricultural Economics, Economics or closely related field by the time of appointment.

    Excellent training in quantitative methods, econometrics, and applied microeconomic theory.

    [b]Preferred Qualifications:[/b]

    Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and implement an effective extension and outreach program based upon nationally recognized research.

    Potential for or demonstrated ability to develop and implement a nationally recognized research program leading to effective economic problem-solving and scholarly publications in peer reviewed academic journals.

    Knowledge of U.S. agriculture and the issues facing producers and policy makers.

    Potential for or demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding.

    Experience working in or demonstrated potential to work in disciplinary, multidisciplinary, multi-state and/or integrated interdisciplinary teams.

    Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, including those with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
