    RANK AND NATURE OF POSITION: Assistant Professor; twelve-month tenure track. The position is 60% Extension, 30% Research, 10% Teaching.

    WORK LOCATION: Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness with joint appointments in the LSU College of Agriculture and the LSU Agricultural Center. Extension responsibilities will include economic analysis of crop and livestock production and farm management decisions faced by producers in Louisiana, with an emphasis on the production of soybeans, feed grains and livestock enterprises. This position will also be responsible for the development of annual production cost estimates for soybeans, feed grains and livestock enterprises in Louisiana. Duties will also include evaluation of farm business issues relevant to stakeholders, publication of economic analysis results in appropriate refereed and non-refereed publication outlets, and extension educational presentations at producer and other clientele meetings. Successful acquisition of extramural grant funds to support the extension program of this position is expected. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching one course per year in the areas of production economics, as well as advising undergraduate and graduate students.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Ph.D. in agricultural economics or a related field with expertise in the area of production economics and farm management. The applicant must also have a strong interest in mission-oriented teaching and extension activities which address critical clientele needs.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
