  • Assistant Teaching Professor, Biometrics and Natural Resource Techniques

    The College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science at Michigan Technological University (http://forest.mtu.edu) invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor, Biometrics and Natural Resource Techniques. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track position. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities would include: 1) Teaching undergraduate courses in natural resource analysis-related areas, including field techniques and methods, biometrics, forest biometrics and modeling, natural resource economics, and wildland fire. Additional teaching may include undergraduate and graduate courses in forest economics and undergraduate and graduate classes in statistics; 2) Contribute to curriculum development and assessment and activities that promote inclusion and a sense of belonging in our academic programs; 3) Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work, including providing safety orientations to students participating in indoor and outdoor labs associated with courses taught. Preferred qualifications include: PhD at time of appointment; experience teaching courses listed above; additional certification or other credentials relevant the practice of forestry; and experience in resource management.
