The Vermont Child Welfare Training Partnership (CWTP) was established in 1993, as a cooperative effort between the University of Vermont’s Department for Social Work in the College of Education and Social Services and The State of Vermont’s Department for Children and Families (DCF). Its goal is to improve the quality of child welfare practice and outcomes for children through improved parenting capacity in Vermont, by providing relevant research, education and training. CWTP offers learning opportunities for Vermont foster, adoptive and kin parents around the state. It does so in collaboration with the DCF’s Family Services Division, the Vermont Adoption Consortium and UVM Extension.
