Biological Engineer/Scientist (Research Faculty Position) -- Assistant/Associate Professor, 12-month, Tenure-track Position

RESPONSIBILITIES (Research 75% and Extension 25%):
• Develop a nationally recognized research program, that also supports extension and knowledge transfer. Efforts will be focused on predicting biological system responses to environmental stimuli. Topics could include: enhancing biomass or commodity production and conversion; modeling plant, animal or aquatic responses to health stressors; environmental fate/impact of pollutants; or, other areas. (Excellent field and laboratory facilities and full-time staff are available to help support this endeavor and opportunities exist to collaborate with Oak Ridge National Laboratory).
• Successfully obtain external funding in support of research and extension programs
• Publish scholarly research and extension material
• Fully engage state industries and agencies
• Collaborate with Faculty and participate in interdisciplinary activities throughout the University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. in Biosystems/Biological Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science or a related discipline is required. A robust background in Mathematical/Statistical Tools is highly desirable.
EFFECTIVE DATE:

SALARY:
