The School of Food Science (SFS) within the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) at Washington State University is seeking a dynamic, motivated, highly skilled and experienced problem-solving leader and researcher for a full-time, permanent 12-month tenure-track position (70% extension; 30% research) at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level at the Prosser, Washington Irrigated Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an impactful and well-funded integrated extension and research program focusing on food safety with an emphasis on raw agricultural products and minimally processed foods produced in the Pacific Northwest.
Required qualification: Earned Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Microbiology, or a related discipline at date of hire. Strong academic training or industry experience in food safety. A minimum of 2 years of experience in food safety-related work in a research university or industry. A record of accomplishments in extension and research commensurate with department, college, and university standards for tenure or level of rank.
