This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through 07/31/2026.
Work Location: Department of Entomology, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana
Position Description: The individual will be expected to perform a variety of duties as a Research Associate in the Department of Entomology. These duties include supervision of undergraduate student employees; conducting field surveys of bumble bee communities throughout the Northeast and Midwest; and digitizing research data. Current projects would require the successful applicant to cooperate with various personnel from USDA-ARS and The Ohio State University.
Qualification Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in entomology or another related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a degree in entomology. Training in conducting pollinator surveys and insect taxonomy is required. Must be able to confidently conduct research including field identification of bumble bees under minimal supervision, while also working well with a team. Must be adept at working under strenuous environmental conditions.
