The Colorado State University Department of Agricultural Biology seeks a Pesticide Safety Educator. This 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position requires an MS degree or higher in a crop protection-related discipline such as entomology, plant pathology, weed science, agronomy, horticulture, and related fields plus experience with regulation, education, or research in integrated pest management and/or pesticide registration, extension, or stewardship programs.
The position provides leadership and team support in the Colorado Environmental Pesticide Education Program (CEPEP). The primary responsibilities include overseeing the development of pesticide safety education materials (Fact Sheets, Study Guides, Exam Item Writing, Worker Protection Standard compliance materials), public engagement and outreach through continuing education opportunities and serving as an educational resource for communities, Colorado State University (CSU) Extension and Agricultural Experiment Station. Collaborations include working with Colorado Department of Agriculture, CSU Departments such as Agricultural Biology, CSU Extension and Agricultural Experiment Station, Environmental Protection Agency, Industry Stakeholders and Pesticide Safety Education Programs in other States.
