We are looking for M.S. students who are interested in innovative environmental remediation, bioremediation, novel wastewater and water treatment. Particularly, the graduate students (full-time graduate research assistants) will work on a couple of research projects sponsored by U.S. Department of Agriculture which will be novel environmental remediation (biochar-driven remediation, bioremediation, phytoremediation) for enhancing water quality, microbial pathogen control, soil health and greenhouse gas control in agricultural systems.
Available topics include: 1) Preparation, characterization and applications of surface-functionalized biochar for controlling nutrients, chemical and biological contaminants in soil and water, 2) Fate, transport and transformation of contaminants in various biochar-added agricultural system, and 3) Understanding of biochar-microbes-plant interactions for environmental sustainability. Other topics will also be available upon the students’ backgrounds and interests.
We are hiring M.S. students in environmental science, natural resources, soil science, agricultural science, chemistry, biology and any other relevant disciplines at Tarleton State University.
Candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Eunsung Kan (https://sites.google.com/site/eunsungkan/) by sending CV, unofficial transcript, cover letter, and a list of three references. Please include your past research/study experiences and your future research interests in the cover letter.
