Position: Organic Food and Argriculture Technical Assistant

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist specialists with organic projects (i.e., field preparation, planting, cultivating, organic pest management, application of soil amendments, harvesting, grading, weighing, and farm record-keeping)
Assist the team with general maintenance of organic farm equipment and facilities.
Participate in the development of content for educational resources for experiential training of students in organic farming.
Participate in field visits to organic farms and related facilities.
Assist in developing content for educational materials and publications such as extension fact sheets and technical reports on organic agriculture.
Perform other duties assigned by Project Director
Qualifications
Education/Experience: A high school diploma plus two (2) or more years of experience in agriculture
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be courteous and provide excellent customer service
Must be a team player
Qualifications (Preferred)
Education/Experience: A bachelor degree in Agriculture or related discipline
Experience in organic agriculture
Salary
Commensurate with education, training, and experience
Additional Position Information
This position does require weekend and after work hours during peek season
This position does require some travel
This position is funded through a grant and basic budget funding
