(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through July 31, 2027. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)
Work Location: Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Martin D. Woodin Hall, Baton Rouge Campus.
Position Description: The Post Doctoral Researcher position’s primary purpose is to assist the faculty member with data management, analysis, and writing paper; support with mentoring and guiding research assistants and team members; and attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops to present project findings. This position reports to the Dr. Qingxiao Li, Assistant Professor. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics, Economics, or related field completed by July 2025; candidate must contain strong theoretical and empirical research skills; candidate must have the ability to communicate research findings effectively through writing and presentations; evidence of research interest in at least one of the following areas: food prices, index number theory, and U.S. food markets.
Desired Qualifications: Candidate should have familiarity with the Administrative Data Research Facility (ADRF) is highly desirable. Experience working with high-frequency retailer and household scanner data is a significant plus, have a strong background in applied econometrics, statistical modeling, and experience with high-dimensional data analysis; proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing and econometric analysis, and SQL for database management and querying; knowledge of index number theory and its applications in price measurement; experience with supercomputing systems for large-scale data processing and computational modeling and ArcGIS.
