Endowed Egg Layer Professorship
The Prestage Department of Poultry Science supports the North Carolina poultry industry through extension, research, and teaching activities. Braswell Family Farms is a fourth-generation family-owned company producing and marketing quality feed and eggs for American families and businesses, and has established the Braswell Family Distinguished Professorship in Commercial Layer Management, Physiology or Nutrition.
This position will develop a productive, externally-funded extension and innovative research program that takes a multi-disciplinary approach to applicable areas of commercial egg production and processing.
Candidates should expect to interface between reproduction and dynamic nutritional needs within the diverse management systems associated with the commercial egg industry. The successful candidate is also expected to coordinate with other faculty in the Department in order to develop the new online Egg Certificate Program. Courses developed for the certificate may also be graduate level courses associated with graduate programs.
The new faculty member is expected to seek funds from federal granting agencies as well as from industry-sponsored research.
