Dr. Eunsung Kan’s group is looking for ambitious and self-motivating graduate students (M.S., graduate research assistant) in the fields of environmental science/engineering, agriculture, plant, soil, water and any other relevant areas. The graduate students will work for several research projects funded by U.S. Department of Agriculture focusing on applications of biochar for agricultural and environmental sustainability in agricultural systems.
Possible topics will include, not limited to:
Biochar/engineered biochar for enhancing water quality in agricultural systems
Biochar/engineered biochar for carbon sequestration, capture and conversion
Biochar/engineered biochar for mitigation of emerging contaminants and antibiotic resistance in water or soil
Biochar/engineered biochar for enhancing biofuel and bioproduct generation from agricultural waste
B.S. in environmental science/engineering, agriculture, plant, soil, water and any other relevant areas
Solid backgrounds in fundamental science (biology, chemistry, mathematics) and applied sciences
Willing to start this position in summer or fall 2022
Any research/lab/field experiences in environmental science, biology, chemistry and agriculture
Any publication and conference presentations
