The Department of Extension Plant Sciences at New Mexico State University seeks to fill an Extension Specialist/ Water Management. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with 100% Extension allocation. The position will be housed on the main campus of New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces, NM, with statewide responsibilities; may work evenings and weekends. Personal auto required. Travel is reimbursed at the current IRS rate per mile. A valid driver’s license is required. Ph.D. in Water Resources, Irrigation Management, Watershed Management, Hydrology, Agronomy, or related disciplines. A background in water resource management and knowledge of water issues facing arid/semiarid agricultural and urban landscapes is preferred
The successful candidate will conduct statewide Extension education programming and provide information on water management issues relevant to agricultural, rangelands, rural, and urban clientele of New Mexico.
