(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)
WORK LOCATION: School of Plant, Environmental & Soil Sciences, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, La.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordination of field, greenhouse, and laboratory research related to weed management, weed biology/ecology, and herbicide resistance as related to weed science in row crops. The applicant should be able to coordinate graduate students, train, and supervise student employees. Duties will include design, establish, maintain, evaluate, and collect and analyze data from weed management research Applicant is encouraged to pursue an advanced degree in Weed Science.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in a plant science related field. Course work or experience in Agronomy/Weed Science and a strong background in row crop agriculture are preferred. Experience with row crop weed management in the mid-south is desired. Familiarity with the handling pesticides, field plot techniques, and knowledge of row crop production, demonstration research, weed management, computer applications, and statistical methodology are desirable.
