POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Work Location: This position will be located at the H. Rouse Caffey Rice Research Station in Crowley, Louisiana.
Position Description: Position involves assisting a project leader to conduct field evaluations, genetic selections, and laboratory tests to determine major grain quality parameters such as glycemic index, protein content, amylose compositions, and milling quality. Research areas include breeding, applied genomics, and greenhouse/field evaluations with both rice and coastal restoration plants. The individual will work under the supervision of a project leader. The individual will supervise student workers.
Qualification Requirements: A bachelor’s degree (master’s desired) in plant science, agronomy, molecular biology, plant physiology, plant biotechnology, or closely related field required. Experience with molecular biology or biotechnology is preferred.
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
