    [b]Position Summary:[/b]

    The Extension Educator will provide instruction and support in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Health and Nutrition educational programs for county, multi-county, and state programs. They will plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and report FCS Nutrition and Health programs and provide district support and supervision for the University of Idaho Extension Eat Smart Idaho (Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)) (60%). The Extension Educator will also provide general FCS (30%) and FCS-related 4-H Youth Development (10%) programs.



    [b]Minimum Qualifications:[/b]


    An earned Masters degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition and Health, Extension Education, Adult Education or a closely related discipline completed by the date of hire.
    Ability to design, market, conduct and evaluate educational programs leading to advances in Family and Consumer Sciences.
    Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with people of various social, cultural, economic and education backgrounds. Ability to work effectively as a team player.
    Possess strong organizational and communication skills (including computer literacy, effective written and verbal skills), to work with a variety of individuals and groups including volunteer groups. Ability to lead group problem-solving skills and decision- making.
    Competence in using technology for program delivery, record keeping and reporting, and team-based communication.
    Must be willing and able to travel and participate in evening and weekend programs.



    [b]Preferred Qualifications:[/b]


    At least 3 years of experience in Extension Education and Family and Consumer Sciences (relevant experience acquired within the last 5 years preferred).
    Experience in disseminating programming and/or research results through scholarly outlets and effective oral presentations.
    Supervisory experience and proven ability to lead and mentor others.
    Previous experience working with underserved, un-served and minority audiences.
    Knowledge of Hispanic culture and ability to communicate in Spanish, both orally and in writing.
