    The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is seeking qualified applications for a Regional Extension Agent (REA) in the northwest region of Alabama. This position is a 100% non-tenure track faculty Extension assignment covering multiple counties. The Agent will be housed in an office located in one of the counties in the region served.

    The mission of the Extension Agronomic Crops Team is to provide research-based information and learning opportunities to commercial row crop producers and related constituents. As part of its mission, the Agronomic Crops Team is committed to the clientele's long-term sustainability and profitability through environmentally sound agronomic row crop production programming. The successful Regional Extension Agent (REA) will participate as a cohesive team member and will work with local clientele, advisory groups, and other interested parties to plan, implement, and evaluate agricultural row crop programming conducted in their region. Team members will provide educational programs addressing all phases of row crop agriculture as deemed necessary by the Agronomic Crops Team (which includes REAs, County Extension Coordinators, and ACES Specialists). Their Extension Program will emphasize the use of agricultural technologies as a tool to assist producers in this region of Alabama. Historically, the row crops produced in these counties include but are not limited to cotton, soybeans, field corn, and small grains.
