    New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean/Director of Academic Programs of the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences.  Position requires the incumbent to be tenured or tenurable at the rank of professor in a discipline represented within the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences with a minimum of four years of experience as an academic department head or equivalent administrative experience. Proficiency in conversational Spanish to facilitate effective communication with Spanish-speaking stakeholders is preferred.


    Major responsibilities include the planning, coordination; budgeting; monitoring of college teaching resources; and implement effective plans for student recruitment, retention and graduation rates.  The successful candidate is expected to be an advocate for the college, its students, faculty and staff at the university, state, and national levels. The Associate Dean/Director is administratively responsible to the Dean of the College and serves on the College Cabinet, Dean’s Department Heads Council, the University Associate Dean’s Advisory Council, and other committees as necessary.
