POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Work Location: Hammond Research Station, 21549 Old Covington Hwy., Hammond, LA 70403
Position Description: The individual will be expected to perform a variety of duties as an Extension associate at the Hammond Research Station. These duties include establishment and maintenance of research plots; application of chemicals (fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, etc.); harvest; data collection; and computerizing and analyzing research data. Current projects would require the successful applicant to cooperate with various personnel of the Hammond Research Station and related units in joint tasks when deemed necessary.
Qualification Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field of agriculture. Preference will be given to applicants with a degree in horticulture or plant science. A master’s degree is desired. Preference will be given to applicants with additional training and experience in commercial fruit and vegetable production. Must be able to operate a tractor and other farm equipment. Some travel throughout the state required. Louisiana Pesticide licensure will be required upon hire.

Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
