Economics Agricultural Extension Agricultural - General
Position: Assistant Professor of Agricultural & Resource Economics. This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure track position with a 75% Extension and 25% research appointment.
Develop and deliver a nationally recognized statewide integrated Extension and research program focused on farm and financial management
Use traditional and innovated tools to educate a diverse audience including county Extension agents, area Extension specialists, state and federal agencies, state industry and producer groups
Acquire extramural funding to support, develop and deliver Extension and research programs
Publish peer reviewed Extension publications and articles in other appropriate outlets
Publish in high quality disciplinary and multi-disciplinary journals
Work with UTIA faculty, including multi-disciplinary teams, MANAGE Program Coordinator,county agents, area specialists and other UT personnel
Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students
Provide leadership to state level 4-H programs as appropriate
Participate in the service activities of the Department, Institute, University and profession
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or closely related field. The successful candidate will have excellent research, quantitative, and communication skills, a willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams, and an understanding of agricultural production systems.
