The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) at Mississippi State University is seeking a graduate student that is interested in precision animal farming. The student will be supervised by faculty at MSU and USDA Agricultural Research Service and will engage in applied research that addresses environment and welfare challenges in commercial poultry production. Collaborative research efforts among MSU and USDA researchers, partnering universities, and industry partners have been successful in supporting the commercial poultry industry, which is the largest agricultural commodity in Mississippi (~ $3 billion). Specifically, the student will investigate novel methods to reduce environmental pathogen populations in commercial broiler litter. With the help of graduate advisor and committee, the student will be trained to conduct research and produce research deliverables, i.e., academic posters, conference presentations, and journal articles.

STIPEND
Stipend will be commensurate with experience, up to $20,000 annually for two years.
