The Extension Technical Assistant serves as a temporary, full time, 11-month technician with the primary responsibility for serving the needs of ANR Specialists in the development and delivery of educational programs supporting the mission of Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Educators support the core mission of Cooperative Extension which focuses on one or more of the following interdisciplinary initiatives: Environment; Farm Produce Safety and Security; Animal Science; Agribusiness and Marketing; Horticulture, and Food Systems. Programmatic objectives of Extension Educators will be consistent with national and statewide initiatives considered of significant importance to residents of the state of NC.
The Extension Technical Assistant is expected to work collaboratively with the Animal Science, Agribusiness & Marketing and Farm Produce Safety specialists as well as the Community Gardens coordinator. Close collaboration with Horticulture and Natural Resources Extension Programs is required. The Extension Technical Assistant is expected to provide support for the development of research-based information and educational programs for urban growers, small farmers, community members, decision-makers, and other stakeholders. Administratively, will report to the ANR Program Leader or designee.
