My research focuses on understanding how routine management practices influence the spread of infectious diseases within and between livestock farms. In particular, I am interested in:
monitoring routinely collected animal health information for trends that may indicate emerging farm and industry level disease concerns
evaluating the potential for diseases to spread between farms through the movements of personnel, vehicles, and equipment from livestock support services
modelling the impact of national animal health programmes on disease transmission dynamics and farm profitability
understanding the motivations behind farmers' decisions to participate in herd health improvement schemes
developing interactive software tools to facilitate knowledge exchange between academia and industry
