My research has been focus on both basic and applied aspects of using plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) as microbial inoculants to promote plant growth and provide biological disease control. Investigations include using PGPR mixtures for enhancement of plant growth and yield promotion and also for broad-spectrum protection against several pathogens. Greenhouse and field evaluations are conducted annually to provide biological support for more basic investigations. Crop systems utilized in this work comprise of long cayenne pepper, tomato, cucumber, corn and rice. Pathogens used range from Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, cucumber mosaic virus, Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotium rolfsii, and Ralstonia solanacearum
