Expertise: My research focuses on the conservation and management of game and nongame bird species in context of a changing climate. Recently, I have finalized analysis of a 10-year data set on the effects of grazing and herbicide treatment on lesser prairie-chicken reproductive ecology and survival in New Mexico. My current research focuses on the relationship between environmental variables and thermal tolerances of nesting lesser prairie-chickens, assessing the effects of land use practices on lesser prairie-chicken demographics, and integrating climate science methodologies into ecological field studies. I am a member of the Lesser Prairie-Chicken Interstate Working Group Science Team. Lesser prairie-chicken ecology and conservation has been a primary focus of my research since 2008.
