Research seeks to define genetic mechanisms of maize, the causes of mutant effects, the locations of genes in the genome, and systems of control of plant development. He and colleagues compile, summarize and interrelate genetic and genome information, and develop and establish continuity for a national-resource database for maize genetics, mapping, and the maize genome, for the World Wide Web.
