    The incumbent identifies, assesses, and prioritizes needs identified through programmatic outreach efforts designed to target at-risk youth in urban and suburban communities in the central and southwest region of the state.

    • Ability to develop public-private community partnerships. 


     


    Essential Job Functions



    • Develops and implements an individual plan of work based on locally identified needs that will lead to improved quality of life for youth.

    • Develops and directs an urban based program for youth which teaches life skills with a variety of methods, including projects, special interests, and project groups.

    • Uses proven, research-based teaching methods to instruct and educate youth.

    • Develops and implements innovative strategies to expand the reach of educational programming to underserved youth, particularly in the inner city.

    • Markets and represents Extension’s interest to external partners and stakeholders.

    • Seeks external funding such as grants, gifts, and cost recovery to support and expand educational programming.

    • Utilizes appropriate evaluation methods to document impact and publicize accomplishments.

    • Implements programs in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action and Federal Civil Rights policies and procedures.

    • Networks and communicates with civic leaders, community volunteers and other organizations to develop strategies to implement programs in urban communities.

    • Other related duties, as assigned.




     

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development or other closely related field

    • Master’s degree preferred.

    • Three (3) years’ related experience
