Full Professor in Environment and Society
The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase ) is an interdisciplinary school at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that uses Earth and environmental science, engineering, technology, and the social sciences to address key environmental challenges. Many ASE researchers work closely with the Earth Observatory of Singapore (https://earthobservatory.sg/ ), and/or Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (https://scelse.sg/ ), and/or Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health, CCEH (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/cceh ).
The Asian School of the Environment (ASE), College of Science (CoS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore seeks to appoint an accomplished and visionary scientist as Full Professor in Environment and Society. We welcome applicants with research interests including but not limited to environmental governance and decision-making, political ecology, environmental or ecological economics, risk and resilience in socio-environmental systems, and coupled human–environment systems. Candidates in relevant fields may also be considered for additional appointment at the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS).
Qualities and Leadership
Candidates should have a strong track record of impactful, interdisciplinary research, demonstrated leadership in securing major grants and building collaborative research networks, supervising graduate students, experience mentoring junior faculty, and contributions to institutional or programmatic development, especially within interdisciplinary environments. The successful candidate will have opportunities and will be expected to convene and inspire diverse teams, fostering collaborations across disciplines and institutions to develop, pursue, and lead large-scale, high-impact research initiatives that address pressing environmental and societal challenges.
Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field and would normally already hold a tenured Professorial position in a university (or equivalent institution).
The successful candidate will:
Build and lead a pioneering research programme in environment and society
Convene and lead large collaborative projects and initiatives at regional and global scales
Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in ASE
Contribute to mentoring and academic leadership within NTU
Develop collaborations with researchers across NTU, Singapore, and internationally

Emoluments
The commencing salary is competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package.
