Expertise: My interests revolve around sustainable soil management in agricultural systems to both improve long-term productivity and protect our precious natural resources. I am interested in exploring effects of cover crops, conservation tillage, crop rotations, and fertilizer treatments on soil carbon and nitrogen in order to improve soil quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and protect water quality. Other interests include small-scale urban agriculture, permaculture, and vermiculture.
